Today was my first ever house meeting! This is a weekly meeting where me and the other tenants come together and talk about the state of the house we are living in and any problems we might need to address, such a shortage of toilet paper, which has apparently been an issue in the past. Today we talked about some problems in the house, read and discussed the book of Ecclesiastes, and prayed afterwords.
Now, here is a quick summary of Thursday and Friday because I forgot to blog about these two days on Friday. On Thursday, I had my usual four hour long morning Bible class. On that day, we discussed what the Bible says about trees and how which human characteristics they represent. Then we passed out fliers around the neighborhood from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. After getting back, we left for a friend's house for dinner and I returned home around 10 p.m.
On Friday I had my usual four hour morning Bible class, except this time my proctor, Mr. Breisch, came to visit and sit in for the last two hours when I presented. My presentation was on salvation and sanctification, and the difference between the two words in the Bible. Through my research, I learned that even though the two words are extremely similar, they are still different because salvation means being saved, while sanctification means being made holy. After the class I had another community outreach session of handing out fliers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and after that my day was over.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story
Also include images, sounds or video from your project.
# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).
Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another student or with a group.
I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!
