WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another student or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Free Ice Cream!

Before talking about ice cream here's a quick overview on what happened Tuesday. The day began with the usual four hour long Bible study. Yesterday we went over the book of Hosea and saw how God despite punishing the nation of Israel due to their sin, he is also a just and compassionate God.

After that I went out for lunch and then reconvened for the afternoon community outreach. It consisted of one hour of making fliers and then another hour of distributing them around a neighborhood. After this I had an hour of study time until dinner which I used to read the book, A Case for Christ. After dinner I came back to the church at 7 p.m. to hand out more fliers for an half hour until the prayer meeting started. The prayer meeting lasted until 9:30 and that's when my day ended.

Fast forward to free ice cream day! The day started off with the usual four hour long Bible study where we covered the book of Amos. The book of Amos is another example of how God is fair in dealing with his people and the nations around Israel.

The end of the discussion marked lunch time, and the end of lunch time signaled the beginning of handing out free ice cream! This activity was part of my afternoon community outreach and the end of the hour long free ice cream session meant I needed to rush to an interview with a friend, where I asked him how his high school and college experience impacted his Christian faith. After the interview my day was done and I went home for dinner.

  1. Hi Carlf! I hope you are having lots of fun on your project.
I'm really enjoying seeing another side of you in your blogs. I had no idea that you were so interested in Christianity or Bible study, and I am happy that you are able to explore those interests. The four hour long Bible study sounds like Freshman Humanities on steroids- I hope that those four hours are mostly enjoyable and don't get boring.

I wish I ran into you to get some free ice cream. The interview with your friend sounds really interesting. I would be curious to hear about his perspective on how his high school and college experience impacted his faith. I would also like to hear some of the interactions you had with some of the people you handed out fliers to on the streets, and what were some of their reactions.

I'm excited to see what you will post about in the upcoming week and what other experiences you will have. Hopefully they will all involved some form of free ice cream. Good luck!
